Marvel Samurai Ghost Rider Introduces New Avengers Preview

Like many of the other Marvel mythos superhero names, Ghost Rider is a cloak that has been passed down from one character to the next. When the current Avengers race was launched in 2018, Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness introduced one of the most unique versions to date, the one that rode a blazing mammoth instead of a motorcycle or Hell Charger. Now, Aaron and Javier Garron present another new portrait of the character.

within pages Avengers #58 This week, the team of the same name will travel through time, as they did recently, and end up in Japan’s Edo period somewhere between the 17th and 18th centuries. Here, the group will encounter Ghost Ronin, a version of a vengeful spirit who acts as a samurai warrior.

The revelation came during the last round of Marvel requests with Captain America and Nighthawk who ended up as the first to encounter Ghost Ronin.

Marvel’s summary of the issues reads “Avengers Through Time! Japan, Edo Period.” “They say he walks at night, holding a blade forged by the fires of hell. And where he wanders, atonement flows, like springs of blood. He is the legendary ghost ronin, a vengeful samurai. And besides the avengers, he will make him the final stand against the swords of Satan himself.”

Throughout the vast majority of this race, the Avengers were battling Mephisto and his Red Council, a collection of multiple versions of the demonic character from across the multiverse. Leads to AX: DoomsdayMarvel’s summer event, the current Avengers roster includes Captain America, Iron Man, Nighthawk, Captain Marvel, Thor, Blade, Echo, Starbrand, Namor and Valkyrie.

Avengers #58 is due out in comic stores Wednesday, July 20.
